The latest iteration of Virb's visual design is downright fantastic. And I'm actually surprised, because this is — as far as I know – the first design process at Virb that hasn't been led by Ryan Sims. The Virb team has once again done an amazing job that positions Virb as the most droolworthy CMS in this crowded field.

I love the visual profile of Friends of The Web. The color palette reminds me of data centric services and tools like Google. They come across as an agency it'd be fun to work with. The Project Inquiry/General Contact option is also a great touch on the Contact page.

What a thoroughly high quality site this is. The design is inviting and friendly in both language and visual design. To me, it comes across as a great service that hopefully attracts more than a few non-profits. Great job by Dodd, Marshall and Sean!

The world of food recipe sites is a very crowded playing field, and that is why I love Gojee's approach to design. Lead designer Adam Meisel has taken a bold approach by focusing on huge photos to entice food lovers. There are also other innovative aspects to the design, like the "I crave..." feature in the top bar. My only gripe with the site is that it could be even faster to browse.

MailChimp commissioned a rock opera from Merlin Mann and wrapped it in this beautiful package. Read all about it over at MailChimp's blog.

It's no surprise that when legendary web designer Bryan Veloso is getting married to his beautiful fiancé Jennifer Verduzco, his wedding website is designed with great care. As always with Bryan's work, the colors, textures, typography and graphics are beautifully crafted down to the very last detail. Also, I think the the "Honeyfund" is superb. Congrats!

The latest redesign of EA's historically slow and "chunky" site is a huge success. They have managed to make it feel elegant and responsive without compromise. The great use of whitespace and a fast stack are probably the main contributors to this. If I was John Riccitiello I would be very happy with how this site turned out.

Parliament is a creative company that oozes of good taste and great talent for design. This is very obvious throughout their website, their entire portfolio, as well as their beautiful industrial headquarters.

Joe Hewitt and his girlfriend Laura Copeland have created a beautiful photo blog. What's most exciting about this site is the fantastic scroll-based user interface built on Joe's Scrollability. Thanks to this the site is a joy to experience across devices, especially on my iPhone 4. Joe has also written a post about the project. In his words: "Inertial scrolling is a fundamental part of touch screen devices, regardless of their visual design, and should be used more often on the web."

iPhone app teaser websites come a dime a dozen. iPhone app teaser websites of this calibre however are much, much harder to come by. Scrolling this site is so enjoyable that I think it's right to compare it to the spectacular and very successful Ben the Bodyguard site. Seldom has a small project like developing a teaser site been turned into such a wonderful result. Great work by Image Mechanics.
