Krillbite is an indie game development studio based in Hamar, Norway. My favorite parts about the site are the illustrated details, the typography (even though the body text is a tad tiny), the use of colors, the highlighted navigation items (great touch) and the humor.

Irrland is a science/art project by Sebastian Waters und Patrick Beser taking place all over Ireland. This is also the most ambitious and experimental design of a Tumblog I've ever seen. The interface isn't perfect, but it's well worth a closer look. They've done some wonderful work in the details.

With a brand new Digg and a hot new Think Vitamin, it's obvious that I should also post my favorite site redesign ever which is #newtwitter. I absolutely love what Vitor Lourenço, Doug Bowman and Zhanna Shamis have done with the site. So many people much smarter than me have weighed in on the new design already, and almost everybody seems to love it. Especially the fact that it feels so much like a desktop app. Read more about the Twitter redesign over at Quora.

The recent Digg reboot has gotten quite a bit of bad press recently, and I don't disagree with most of criticism. Judging by the user uproar and the bad numbers, it's easy to see that this complete rethinking of the service and user interface isn't a huge win for Digg. Still, I find the new site has a quite beautiful user interface. They've also managed to shave off many of the different elements, which is a good thing. It's also much more responsive now, and they've also done cool stuff like this.

Rumpetroll aka ass trolls is an impressive social experiment by @danielmahal, @hpeikemo, @hugoahlberg and @simenbrekken. This is a very good example of what can be achieved with emerging web standards. This site a chat room disguised as a beautiful pool of cute little tadpoles.The technology behind the scenes is a mix of HTML5 Canvas, WebSockets, JavaScript and CSS 3. The project is open and hosted on github.

A beautiful single page design for an engagement consultancy service based in San Diego, CA. My one gripe with the site is that it's actually quite hard to see where they are located, as I'm sure it's very relevant to their potential clients.

The tagline is 'A Couple That Loves to Create', and it really shows. Spectacular work by a husband and wife team working side by side. It's very rare for a portfolio to be this convincing.

If you are doing iPhone UI design, Review is the quickest way to judge your mockups on an actual device. I really like the look of the app's website. What's more, it really has a great way of showing off how the app works as well. Lovely stuff.

I think I'll just quote Jason Kottke here: "Want to see the state of the art in web design using web fonts and Typekit? Check out Lost World's Fairs. It's all good, but Frank Chimero really knocked it out of the park with the 1962 Atlantis World's Fair. With HTML5 and web fonts, experimentation with web design seems open and fun again; reminds me of the 90s a bit." Via Kottke.
