This one does need any explanation really. The only question is why I didn't post it before. The site is filled with beautiful little details like illustrations, rollover effects and so on. Needless to say, the site really makes me want to attend the festival.

I came across this one accidentally while reading up on Ruby on Rails. Typeonerror is a duo working to solve interactive design challenges. I really love how powerful their identity is through the use of colors, contents and interface elements. Quality stuff.

Paravel are back with yet another home run. This one reminds me why I love their work. Perfect textures, layout, illustrations, content balance, typography, and so on and so forth. Truly inspiring to see that they have such a knack of creating so much high quality and unique work.

Adaptive Path has for a long time been one of the major players in the field of user experience design. Their recent site redesign adds some long needed vitality to the site in the form of photos, colors and typography. I really love what they have done with this.

Netlife Research is a UX/UI consultancy based in Oslo, Norway. In the past I've found their work to be more focused on usability, IA & content strategy, rather than aesthetically pleasing designs. And they've been doing a damn fine job with that. But now, with the recent redesign of their own website, they seem to have stepped things up in the aesthetics department as well — in part thanks to some fantastic illustrations by @PabloLobato. They've written a post about the redesign in Norwegian.

Zerply recently flew in Luke Beard from the British countryside to help them out with their new site design. They just launched the first results from their collaboration, and it's pure gold. My favorite parts of the new home page is the animated "User Login" button and the dynamic "Face Box" combined with a clear description and call to action. The use of Adelle via Typekit also works wonders.

MailChimp recently launched a brand new site design. Overall I think this is very impressive. Especially the way they've managed to make something unique while at the same time keeping it clean and elegant. @obox has posted some criticism about the way they communicate what they do, and I partially agree with this. Still, a wonderful site design both visually and functionally. I have to take a look at the "logged in" view.

PTARMAK is a new studio of designers, writers, artisans and thinkers. I really like how they confronted the task of creating an online portfolio consisting of mainly physical objects. The navigation is a lovely touch that wonderfully accentuates the nature of their work.

Close to all of Nike's numerous websites have looked cutting edge and stupendously slick when they were launched. Nike Better World is no exception. The scrolling effect is a delightful touch. It's also interesting to see how the full page screen shot turned out. Too bad the links are external sites without the same look and feel.

This beer website is outstanding for a couple of reasons. First of all it's exceptionally beautiful thanks to all the awesome illustrations. Secondly, it's got a very neat way of navigating/sorting/browsing the various contents. This is an interesting concept that made me spend more time on the site than I normally would.
