It's refreshing to see someone approach blog design with such a different mindset as Tobias van Schneider and Stephen Burgess did with Minimal Monkey. It's especially nice when the result is something so superb as this. Make sure you don't miss this one. Via Dribbble.

It's refreshing to see such a stripped down portfolio site as Awkward. You may have heard of their baby, Shipment, which is a similarly beautiful web app. Awkward is minimal, flat, full of white space and definitely not awkward. Hot stuff!

FFF is the beautiful experimental playground of Jongmin Kim, an interactive developer at Firstborn Multimedia in NYC. It's obvious that his inspirations date back to the now more or less extinct era of Flash. However, don't take that as a negative in this case. This is also reminiscent of Yugo Nakamura's work from years back, but at the same time doing its own thing. I miss these inspirational experimental playgrounds.

One of the most obvious sites that should already have been posted here on Styleboost in 2012. It is a beautifully designed guide book from MailChimp. Check it out if you haven't already done so.

This small single page website was designed by @jackdecaluwe, a Belgian designer based in Sydney, Australia. I love the visual style, which is in large part shaped by the illustrative style and the strict use of a single purple color. Simply a very nice little site.

Simple but powerful visuals for this brand new one day festival that took place in Stockholm, Sweden last Saturday. Great colors and typography wrapped in a single page wrapping works really well here.

If you haven't heard of Daniel Källbom yet, now is the time. He has mad skills, he works on wonderfully disruptive projects and he has a phenomenal portfolio. If you like Daniel's work, you should also check his brother's portfolio.

This amazing universe for creative kids, started by a team led by Vimeo co-founder Zach Klein is one of the most interesting and inspirational new startups I've come across in a long time. Not only is the idea unusual, the design mesmerizing and the execution flawless, it is also a service that I will actually start using on a daily basis and that I hope will make my life a tiny bit better. They've also done some fantastic things regarding the dangers of building a community for children.

Spotify's biggest challenger has recently launched an unmissable website redesign. Everything about this site is supreme — from the complete user experience to the typography, illustrations, photos, colors, and basically every minute detail you come across. Even the responsive aspects are top notch, which is unsurprising as it has been designed by an A-team that includes Ryan Sims, Wilson Miner and Malthe Sigurdsson.

Delightful interactions and lovely illustrations combined with clear explanations make for a very intriguing teaser site for Carbonmade's upcoming job board of sorts. My two favorite parts of the site are #1 how the carousel is rotating in a circular motion and #2 how the same carousel showcases the various professions. Bonus points for the cuteness!
