Outstanding professional portfolio site for a small non-profit team building big (free & open-source) things. I love the textures, the colors, the typography and all the little details. Via Dribbble.

Here's a goodie from Yaron Schoen and Trent Walton. Not only is this a beautiful site and a great concept. The really wonderful thing about Design Swap is the fact that it is likely to inspire a lot of great designs in the near future.

Grain & Gram, or The New Gentleman's Journal, as they like to call themselves, is a wonderful new source of inspiration. A droolworthy and surprisingly fresh breath of air in this way too crowded area of the Internet. I'll keep this one bookmarked in case there's a chance that they can keep this level of quality in future updates.

Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain just launched a redesigned website for world class piano makers Steinway & Sons. Simply put this site is delicate, elegant and beautifully executed. Jesse has written a blog post about the process.

Jon Hicks just redesigned his journal/blog as a fluid site. Motivated by Ethan Marcotte’s excellent article for A List Apart Responsive Web Design, Jon has definitely done an impressive job. Make sure to resize your browser to see how it folds, bends and adapts.

Quora has one of the most addictive web interfaces of all time. Yes, the concept and the idea behind Quora is great. But what's more fascinating to me is how the interface just sucks me in. The responsive buttons, the little details and the spectacular typography + readability, all makes this site one of my very favorite site designs. Breathtaking work by Rebekah Cox and the Quora team.

Simple, elegant and beautiful. My favorite part about this one is the transitions in the main showcase window on the homepage.

This is not the first time I'm extremely impressed with the design of Joyent's website. Once again they manage to pull off a great website redesign. And make no mistake, this is no realignment. This is a huge leap. Truly beautiful with great information architecture and readability.

The employees of Norwegian studio Klipp og lim love attending festivals of all kinds. That's why they have created this minisite, which is basically a targeted offer to festivals in need of beautiful design on a very low budget. A great idea that is perfectly executed as a single page. Unfortunately, this site is in Norwegian only.
