Toronto based Nick La's portfolio/blog/playground is an outstanding work on its own. It is a design that has a great deal of details and an amazing color scheme for such a clean layout. I only have one issue with this one; the ads. They seem cluttered and random, and take up way too much of my attention while I'm visiting the site.
what is more to say than johan did already. it is a true beauty full of good sense for design [layout, thumbnails, spaces, colors]. don't forget about the powerful-colored iconic wrapping background. and it deals with a lot of interesting topics, resources, links, knowledge - which is good for all. and quite popular that site is.
ads are ads, and google ads are random as hell. bottom line - one of the best blogs i've seen on styleboost.

This is some piece of work. The illustrations are simply amazing, and with that clean design to tune it down, it just looks great. Although I would've liked to see some more effort on the main design-part.
