I love the structureand colour scheme. And the typography is set with great confidence. These guys know what they are doing.

I've either finally fallen off the edge of what is hip and fresh, but this new design bores me to tears. I'm all about creating lightweight designs, but does that mean we must only use one or two images per site? And what's going on with the navigation? Two layers, the first (and most 'prominent') of which looks more like a blockquote than navigation?

I am unimpressed.

I'm amazed by the reaction across the web to this site. Let's be honest people—THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT! If this were not Zeldman's site no one would care or give it a second look. This is a case of the emperor's new clothes if ever I have seen one.

Well executed, but it has no wow factor. Just like many other sites.

good points, maybe it could have more "wow"... I do think that it is important to consider the site objective when rating the style. I guess cog's goal is to provide/sell web design services, and showcase their work - it doesn't have to be so wow. Is it possible that that could distract from the site purpose? JUST throwing that out there. I am in the middle of a redesign myself and keep flipflopping between wow & straight to the point...

The site works well for his target, the potential customers. Though, many other people will view & review it, being Zeldman site, and he could have tried to impress them all. He's famous and respected, he's visible cause he's famous and respected and imho he wasted a chance to become even more visibile, famous & respected :)

Hi! I'm the designer for the site, and I gotta say, "wow" isn't a universal thing. It's different for everyone because everyone has a different experience with a website.

Good design doesn't need to be amazing, it needs to be appropriate for its purpose, and this design works very well for us.

Boring. I thought styleboost was about showcasing beautiful sites.

I think "wow" is a good way to describe this site. At least it left me with that feeling. Much more so than that awful Vista Aero Glass theme.

I like it. It has enough WOW for me. It appeals because it has a message and it delivers that message very quickly.
