The official site of the Norwegian, royal castle. This includes sections for every member of the family and more. I have to warn you, however, this site is not brand new. Still, I find this site to be worth a visit, as I find it very elegantly done and unique in the world of "royal web design". As my friend, Geir Arne Brevik, pointed out, this site makes excellent use of quality photography.
styleboost comment: "makes excellent use of quality photography" just fails in the initial picture of the royal family... it looks tilted, just needs a little photoshopping.
i dislike the picture viewer on the right: it "flashes" twice on start, very distracting/disturbing
nice use of css + xhtml, really nice photography indeed
overall, a very elegant website! some pictures brings back nice memories of oslo.
I think the site of the norwegian royal family is very beatuiful, and very lucid. The photographies are very nice, especially those by Jo Michael. Very easy to navigate - except the overwiev where you are in the site hierarchy.
You norwegians have the fanciest royal family site I could expect to see. I don't mean to the devil's advocate, but the style seems a little misplaced for the content of the site. A little too web 2.0 as well. But well done.
The Royal Family of Norway will be seen with different eyes, wheather you are a international visitor or a Norwegian citizen yourself. Just have a look at the English front image and the Norwegian front image. I must say that I don't think that this reflects high quality photography at all. Why even use two different image sources in the first place? Makes the first impression kind of untrustworthy, don't you think?
The photos are outstanding.
