Duke student and accessibility-focused designer/developer Rob Goodlatte's site recently came to my attention because of the beautiful Mint theme he's created based on Edward Tufte's theories and writing. His blog/portfolio/hub is an outstanding piece of work on its own, however. The delicious chocolate inspired color scheme, the painted details (at least that's how they appear to me), the high level of readability and accessibility and the general high quality feel of it all makes this one a great website overall. If I was handing out thumbs up here on Styleboost, I would give another thumb up for his wonderful family name. I hope it's pronounced just the way I think it is.
I think the colors are to dark and Paul's right, they do look all the same.
No, I like it. The colours are nice, the type is well thought out and the grid is good.
To my mind Rob is building on the current fashion in a positive way by going back to some classic design principles. Good on him for getting Tufte and grids happening.
Once he's designed a couple of hundred sites I reckon we'll be looking to Rob to set the standard for the rest of us.
