Dubbed the 'no shnik-shnak version 2003', the latest redesign of Hi-ReS!'s portfolio is quite unusual. I only have two problems with this one; 1) the technology feels very similar to the Massive Attack site and 2) there are sections under construction.
The site shouldn't be here on Styleboost because it's very bad but the portfolio is ok.
Ahh, sweet... Laidback and soft. Just what the web needs right now.
dreadful. massive disappointment once again. hi-res are not what they used to be.
The site is clean, clear and functional. as they say themselves easy to update. The only real reason its here or anywhere is because of there reputation, which they have earnt, so fair play to them.
is this site some kind of joke. Did they get a three year old to draw there logo?
A few years ago hi-res earnt their reputation for producing the best sites! but of late their work, we feel, is not worthy of their reputation and also the strangle hold on the design community, which they seem to worked so hard to gain.
As far as concerning their own site, it's very basic, ok, but nothing special?!
nmo
you guys crack me up. Their work is great..look at their new 6 feet under site. Great piece of work there...but you all will probably complain that its just a horizontal scroller!
Theydon't look like a big agency, and I guess tehy dont want to. If you upset go look at AKQA for moring boring business dialogue
Hi Res rules, they've always been a head above the rest. Who else would have enough balls to come out with such 'under-designed' yet brilliant site in this cold corporate blue world?
AKQA are boring and dull but thats no excuse!
maybe you should try english you lazy boy
I can speak english rather well but want to annoy everyone by speaking Finnish. No way, ei kai ne oikeesti oo so stupid etteikö couldn't häh? Get it? Not? Too Bad.
last-r : i am french too but i try to speak english on english discussion board this is necessary for a better understanding and for the french image too. You say that they did a strategic mistake. I am not sure. I think they prefer show their works and their creativity than their technical merit. They try to make their site more pur than ever ("épuré" in french) . This is a good way for me. go hi-res !
I still see Hi-reS! as one of the best webdesign companies in the world today. Even though they seem to have lost their balls (they’re men?) for a little while, their latest project 'Six feet under' gives me some hope for what will come tomorrow.

I believe Hi-Res is one of the greatest design firms around. I love the sites they've made for Donnie Darko and Requiem for a Dream. Brilliant and if I may say the word, quirky. The music plays a big part of their work, and to my view is brilliant. Good word for them: "brilliant".
