Once again the über-talented Finnish designer Miika Saksi redesigns (dedesigns?) his portfolio. He has had a tendency of stripping the site down to a more basic state every time he gives it an overhaul. This time he's only presenting his newest work.
i love the layout...it gets the point across without all the bells and whistles.
very very inspiring very to the point. with the web getting more and more congested with the whir-bzzzzz-click and ambient bells and whistles, Miika is a big relief. very easy interaction between the viewer and the pieces is available here and in all of the work of Miika's that I've seen.
Mika is a great sourze for inspiration, and I love the fact that he appears to be self-taught. "Education is a sexual disease, It makes you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you have the urge to pass it on." - T.Pratchett.
dont like the style at all
I do love the style very much, This is one of my favourite online portfolios. It has a very hand made look to the designs, and I love that. This designer rocks!!!!
he rocks. he inspires.
This designer will be remembered for his artistic abilities.
Oh my god. I haw always loved Mika's work, but now it's even better. I would give away my first born child for his skills.
Would the site be as good in our opinions without the amount of great work Miika has produced...? I mean the layout is pretty minimalistic and not so eye-candy. But I don't deny the usability and the look goes very well with his work, but I was just wondering...
that's the beauty of it, jouni. impressive work, shiiit...
shame on him!
Am I the only person who finds this site completely rancid?
Refreshing. No scripts, no tricks, no pretentious bable. By saying less, it says a whole lot more, the work IS the site design and thats what its really about. See the bigger picture and applaud.
Yep, Miika is the shit. He's been the best of Scandinavia for a long long time. Kudos.
Great work, imo he truly captures the spirit of Finland. I've been his fan for more than 4 years already..
Love this style. I've had his site bookmarked for over a year now.
i dont know if this has been mentioned before, but this looks like no pattern, or no pattern looks like this, i would prefer the second option, because i cant stand chuck anderson...
