this may be my first post on here, but i have checked every single site posted on here, and you must agree with me in saying, this guy has got some serious skills, a little disturbed, but incredible skills. i have seen tons of online design portfolios and but have yet to have seen anything like this before. a little shallow on content, and a tad bit hard to navigate, but overall... outstanding. it is up there (close) with designchapel status.

did i mention sound is one of the basic elements of this site

 #2 Unknown User on January 30, 2003

Classic site! Or "classic" is not the right word, astonishing suits better. I like the animations not to mention about the sound that creates an atmospehere you couln't believe!OG!

 #3 Unknown User on January 31, 2003

The animation style of this site kick ass. Unsual visual style too. Inspiring site indeed!

 #4 Unknown User on January 31, 2003

Best animation and soundeffects I have seen so far. It's even better than for example www.wmteam.de. Everything seems to fit together in this peace of art!

 #5 Unknown User on January 31, 2003

Amazing. Just amazing... What an experience... not only is it a website it's also like a short interactive film of sorts. The music is superb the animations chrips and well drawn. This has to be the full 5/5.

I'm speechless... one of the best flash/vector sites, I've EVER seen.

 #7 Unknown User on January 31, 2003

Oh, no. Bandwidth Limit Exceeded. *sob*

 #8 Unknown User on February 1, 2003

whatever the thing that ate the people when you clicked the links (nice fade idea, btw) had me laughing for a long time. it was just funny somehow. i do think that this is one of the best sites ive ever seen.

 #9 Unknown User on February 1, 2003

great site I love that style makes me wanna learn more of that flash!!!

 #10 Unknown User on February 2, 2003

that is some seriously funny shit

 #11 Unknown User on February 2, 2003

Ah, finally I can see the site. First impression: Oh no! It's the Langoliers! They're gonna eat me! http://us.imdb.com/Title?0112040 for reference. About the site: Lovely and mysterious, although you can't get a grip who's behind it - which is too often the case with portfolio sites. I always miss the personal approach.

 #12 Unknown User on February 2, 2003

oh lord... i am speechless... to think of all the time he spent to animate them as well as to design and plan every little aspect out... perfect portfolio site...! I give it number one!

 #13 Unknown User on February 4, 2003

Nice preloader. Incredible sound. The handsaw with circular sawdust is genius.

 #14 Unknown User on February 7, 2003

Nice, but.... a little similar to neostream.com

 #15 Unknown User on February 9, 2003

I agree, but I think Tokyoplastic does it a lot better. It's one of the best uses in sound heard in Flash. Very good 3D as well.

 #16 Unknown User on February 14, 2003

nah.. thats no neostream.. ..both revolve around a vector character.. but in my opinion this blows away neostream.. dont get me wrong, neostream is cool, but you know youve come across a good site when you spend more time figuring out how and why they thought of it rather than how they did it..

 #17 Unknown User on February 14, 2003

animations and consept like neostream

 #18 Unknown User on March 11, 2003

an amazing update! i really wasnt expecting that much improvement to the style and brand. great!

 #19 Unknown User on June 14, 2004

you who say it's similar to neostream: it's similar because neostream was similar to tokyoplastic v.1. :)

 #20 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Superficial. Limited content, extremely slow to download and dreadful navigation. How can sites like these "push the web forward" when all this is just more flash-sturbation for you eyes-only? Where is the interaction? People get impressed with technical mambo jumbo and forget all the rest that makes a good portfolio-website.

 #21 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Yea sure nice site, but BOY is it slow to download...and Im on a 2m/bit line! Jeez!

 #22 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Took forever too load! but i love their animations ;)

 #23 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Ulysses, what do exepct from a site like this? It's purpose is to be emotive, to convey a feeling as much as a visual stimulation... no website is going to reach out and touch you. TP doesn't need to be interactive. It is what it is... sheer brilliance, in a league of its own. It raises the bar for us all and breaks just a tiny bit of new ground... so hard to do that now. Amazing work!

 #24 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Brilliant. Animation and sound doesnt get slicker than this online. Long load time - but worth the wait.

How can it possibly be compared to neostream.com? sheesh!

 #25 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

Yeah it's nice ,

but as a movie not as a web site , our WEB designer / web master works is all about giving the best result with small files size ,... Loads of good animator illustrator can do the same as this site but they just don't do it cause this not the matter when u make an web site !

It's useless , who will spend hours waiting that pics load to watch a web site with really poor content .

make a dvd with this not a websi

 #26 Unknown User on June 15, 2004

hello i don't agree with Sam, there are many personns who will wait loading to see this site even if the content is poor. Because this kind of webdesign is just ART. a new way of expression. i think this site is amazing. i already return to it. bye

 #27 Unknown User on June 16, 2004

if a 2 meg site is too big for you, throw your machine out the window and take up something else :p long load time could mean crap server?

 #28 Unknown User on June 16, 2004

i think this production is very well done in terms of creativity and design. i found the interaction quite pleasing. there was a sense of discovery rather than following a guide. i was on my own in the strange world. i watched the drum machine a week or two before. i thought it was awesome.

 #29 Unknown User on June 17, 2004

Okay, people. Stop comparing everything just to find things that are copied. A lot of things don't look fully original, because some familiar elements are used. That you will find everywhere, e.g. music. So start experience what you see en open your mind. Don't refer immediately.

I think this site has a shitload of style in it. Yes, there is little content, but it's quality content. And in my eyes, that's better than quantity!

tjeerd

 #30 Unknown User on June 18, 2004

for me, this site is awesome. These guys are masters in animation and sound design. All the transitions are original and perfectly designed. The drum machine is just f***ing hot. Sam, I don't agree with you. This site is not a content website, it's a portfolio one (and I am sure the tokyoplastic guys can have a lot of new clients with it...). And if it was a DVD, we couldn't see it...because DVDs don't have a mondial diffusion. thumbs up again

 #31 Unknown User on June 20, 2004

The site drew me in at first because of its pure non apologetic style then it occured to me very plainly I would rather be sitting in my garden in the sun watching nature unfold. Pont being this stuff is all very clever but it did not make me feel. Not as in something worth feeling it became cheap by its own standards. What the web need is substance from the balls and less from the "cool" and maybe something might be worth waiting to download big

 #32 Unknown User on June 24, 2004

Four stars at least. I think you all bore me. Small thinkers in big ponds.

 #33 Unknown User on June 25, 2004

Come on, how big is the movie? Did you wait for hours?

Stop complaining about the size because this piece of work isn't a .com website! Alright? Not everything online shuold be compared to a .com project!

Have your mind open and experience this amazing piece of work!

 #34 Unknown User on June 26, 2004

Incredible stuff - true talent, in illustration and animation.

 #35 Unknown User on July 2, 2004

I'm with Sam. Good illos, nicely animated, but with no content to speak of, so what? This is like a long preload anim with no payoff.

 #36 Unknown User on July 9, 2004

love the little touches - the way the guy playing the bass drum oscillates with rhythm. truly odd, inspired stuff as ever from tokyoplastic :D

 #37 Freshlysqueezed on October 3, 2005

Kinda inspired by japanese anime as well. Good sound fx, and this guy's got a very strange and creative influence.... 9 / 10
