Sofia is a Portuguese interactive designer based in Soho, London. Her website stands out in several aspects: 1) The color palette is yummy, 2) The work presented is smashing and 3) The crazy tilted layout is surprisingly pleasant to use.
i hate overdesigned websites, and this isnt one. the colours are so natural and calming to my eyes, they give an idea of my future bedroom colours. To those that cant read it, perhaps you need glasses, nothing to do with her tilted text being a handicap to those with funny eyes (ah?!)
Nothing particularly noteworthy IMO. As mentioned, only thing interesting is the fact that it's crooked, apparently for "design" considerations. It is interesting for a short time, but doesn't add enough to the site to make it anything out of the ordinary.
Also suggest upping the FPS, especially when you can afford too with so little going on. Good site, but lots of room for improvement.
The work is really good, but I see no reason to tilt everything. Its hard to read and my neck and my eyes are aching :) What would the thing be without being turned for 30° ? I am not sure if I like it...
absolutely love the colours used...really rich. And love the angle!! completely disagree with it being hard to read. The simplicity is refreshing and straight to the point, a thumbs up i say
I think Sofia's website is great. Very original and yet so simple and functional! Excellent!
Very good! I love everything about it. Diagonal/ layout is so original and yet it's such a simple and clever idea. The background is beautiful and the buttons are so cool.
Personally I don't mind the slanted layout, it is unique. Not many websites use this layout and you can read it without twisting your neck, it's not as if its upside down or anything!! The simpler the layout the better I say - too many interactive designers feel the need to show off and over design their sites...Sophia hasn't felt the need to do this which I respect. Lastly I think the colour scheme is very sophisticated and stylish - Nice one!!
I like this website! It's great to see that there are some talented female designers out there doing nice work. I find it very interesting the fact that it's crooked, it's unique! Well done Sofia for not over-designing it like so many other flash people do. I like the fact that there's just the text and the work. Keeping it simple - that's the way! :-) Respect.
some nice work here, but the screens of it is so small.. too small! and im not sure if i like the whole site tilted..
the site is plesant enough but the work is to small and the light small twistered type is far to hard to read.
I don't really see what's special about this one, sure the portfolio contains some good work but to be honest, I got to the homepage of this site, the text is all fuzzy and the framerate too low. I'm suprised really that it's made it onto styleboost as it's not the best of the best.
surprised this made a link at sb. seems the sofia lace fan club have landed in the comments section. ;) very boring site, yawn!
i just love it. i think it´s the ideal designer to be placed on a site called sweet and lovely links. Very good luck with your future ;-)
I wonder why simple things are so annoying to some people? This site is a clear example of simple work, not forgetting the quality of it. 'Original' is also a word we should use to refer to it. Just look at that text layout. It's also writen in english. You can imagine that?!?! And if anyone had a doubt regarding Sophia's great spirit of mind, just look at the games section. It's great for some guys dealing with 'originality' problems. Great job
I think it's gorgeous- I love the typeface. I'm not a desinger but I can tell this is unique and the work she has done, although is very diverse, has a great 'sofialace' style to it. The games are fun and look fab...not seen many websites that have a fun element too. She is clearly a very young, but fantastic, web designer that will go far.....Would like to meet her!
This seems sub-par in comparison to the other sites that are typically featured here... However, it does prove that Fortune 500 clients do not a stellar portfolio make. It's a prime example of how a small-time graphic designer, like many of you indeed are, can showcase in an informative and accessible method but also unique and reflective of your design style. We ought to be supportive of young talent, and those who aren't are simply jealous.
I liked it. Its simple of course! But its no big deal. I felt the same way about the work. its polite and gentle on your senses. But it tends to fade away in a while. Nothing much to hold on to. Never the less it is easy to like.
i love the rich sexy colours, and think the whole thing moves really well. it does wot its sposed to do!! n as for the tit that said "isnt the work good enough to see bigger" open your eyes! theres a link that highlights nicely to take you to desired web page! really its sooo "simple" that people cant work it!! awww dear so many experts!! good on ya miss lace
Well, I like the simplicity in this site and in the work of Sofia in general. It's not really original, but I think it's art when you can make it feel that way. I can see she's still a growing artist. Nice work, Sofia!
