Osaka, Japan based 3D-animator and designer of sorts Toshiyuki Kuwabara's portfolio is a wonderful site to add to the Styleboost directory. The layout and colors are outstanding. This goes for the 3D characters throughout the site. As much as I like this site, I would still rather see it done as a pure html/css site instead of all Flash.

Danish web agency In2media has done a great job putting together this massive flash site. If you hate all-encompassing flash sites, this one's gonna make you go "dammit"! But if you have at least a tiny place in your heart for this kind of website, you will find it easy to like this one. The animations and transitions are nice, and you get some great views of this beautiful table/desk. Via StumbleUpon.

Ivan Santic, a member of HyperIsland's Crew12, has got himself one of the least blog-looking blogs around. The way he's used Flash, added his portfolio and made use of mouseover images in the right hand column, all makes for an experience that feels far from any WordPress site I've ever visited in the past. In addition to his knack for design, Ivan's got some good 3D skills, obviously.

Another crazy smooth animated interface. This time done in Flash. It's quite similar to reinierkuipers, but there are some differences which could only have been done in Flash. Correct me if I'm wrong. Still usable but quite overwhelming.

The Dutch designer Reinier Kuipers fooled me into thinking he'd developed it with Flash. In reality there's only CSS, XHTML and JavaScript. He's even implemented Lightbox in this tight little package.

The third most popular site this week on DesignCharts is a great flashfolio. It's a combined audio/visual experience filled with slick transitions and great use of colors.

A glossy flashfolio from Stockholm-based Lifelike features some delicious water-fx. Quite simply a nice site. Another thing that makes this one stand out from the lot, is the fact that they've added a very nicely designed html page with the highlights from the Flash version. Kudos to Lifelike for taking the time to do this.

This is the promo site for the latest class of students attending Sweden's world famous school of new media, HyperIsland. These site's are launched every year, and every single time they make use of Flash. This could be bad, but in HyperIsland's case, they truly know how to handle Flash, and create sites that push the limits of the technology creatively. The Crew12 site is beautiful and an impressive piece work that in fact pushes the limits of what my laptop can handle, making the transitions a bit laggy.

TAK! is a UK based creative team of designers, art directors, programmers, illustrators, photographers and film makers. I immediately fell in love with their portfolio. The colors are yummy. The use of Flash for animated details is exquisite, even though I'm sure a lot of you would prefer that it was done with javascript instead. I disagree, as I find Flash to deliver a smoother experience in situations like this (most of the time, at least). The work on display sure is killer, and the way they've made room for a blog/playground is a great way to do this. I'm also loving the way they're using typography in their designs and on the site itself. Lovely!

It's always great to take a closer look at portfolios where the work contained within is among the best in its field. Here's a motion studio that truly knows their medium, and have some awe inspiring work to show for it. The markup behind the site isn't perfect, but I love the fact that they've done this one without the use of Flash.
