WhereCloud is in the business of "state of the art mobile and location-based solutions". This small Canadian firm's site caught my eye mainly for one reason. I think the levels of navigation works really well on this one. I know it isn't a huge site, so they don't need to clutter it with all kinds of stuff. But I think the main navigation and the subnavigation are in perfect harmony. Perhaps it's the large size of the clickable areas (i.e. buttons), or perhaps it's the fact that both levels of navigation are close to the middle of the screen. Not really sure there, you see. Anyhow, the point is that I love this site.

Canadian developer/designer Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain recently explained in great detail how he redesigned the ExpressionEngine site. I think the job he has done with the site is highly inspirational and one to follow. The final product is an usability-wonder and a looker. My conclusion: Publish your universe with ExpressionEngine. Toronto based Nick La's portfolio/blog/playground is an outstanding work on its own. It is a design that has a great deal of details and an amazing color scheme for such a clean layout. I only have one issue with this one; the ads. They seem cluttered and random, and take up way too much of my attention while I'm visiting the site.

The Toronto based Canandian offices of Leo Burnett have launched a truly creative Flash site. The advertising industry has been embracing Flash for many years, and I'm sure they will continue to embrace it for years to come. It's the best tool out there for realizing wild ideas like this one.
