The new Think Vitamin has given the site a great boost to the user experience side of things. The use of white space is hot. The same goes for the typography and the color scheme. I'm also very impressed by how beautiful they have made the Disqus comments look. If you like the site, you should read about the new site on Think Vitamin.

Scott Robbin, a developer, and Naz Hamid, a designer made Interhoods. They've worked together for a while, and this site is a way for others to do the same — collaborate, find each other and make magic happen. Seriously beautiful execution of a wonderful idea. I'm eager to see where they're taking this next. Via Ryan Sims.

I have been keenly following the work Brad and Ryan have produced over the years. Together with the Virb team they have now rebooted the service and turned it into something completely different. A bold move that is so beautifully implemented that it will definitely make me consider signing up for the service the next time I'm creating a small site. Check out what ISO50 and TechCrunch has to say about the new site.

Quora has one of the most addictive web interfaces of all time. Yes, the concept and the idea behind Quora is great. But what's more fascinating to me is how the interface just sucks me in. The responsive buttons, the little details and the spectacular typography + readability, all makes this site one of my very favorite site designs. Breathtaking work by Rebekah Cox and the Quora team.

Beautiful and unusual community sites are hard to come by. Fotopedia is one such site with a dark and delicious interface.

Something wonderful happened last night: After a long period of teasing us with slick interface screenshots, VIRB 2.0 finally launched. And what a great job Brad, Ryan and the rest of the team have done. Truly impressive on first look, but this upgrade is something that will need further investigation before I can say if it's truly a success. Ryan's graphics are delicious as always, and those forms are the best looking forms I've ever seen. My only negative comment right now is that I think some of the text is too tiny. What about chunky fonts, guys?

Kontain is a slick blogging platform that is unfortunately made with Flash. That is the wrong way to do it. In fact it really, really pisses me off to see a site made this way. I can't right click an image and copy it into Photoshop, I can't ctrl-click, I can't even make site open in Firefox right now (even though I used to be able to do this)... To make a long angry rant short, I can sum this up in the following: Slick and beautiful aesthetics that are ruined by using the wrong technology.
UPDATE: Kontain is currently being developed in standards based XHTML/CSS with a planned release in February/March.

Grooveshark is a music-sharing community in which users listen to music for free online, download music, and earn free songs for sharing. The site interface for this app is lovely. This is the kind of site I would love to be able to say that I had designed myself. The graphics are so sharp, and the information so well laid out. Make sure to take a look at Grooveshark lite.

I think this is the third redesign of purevolume™ that is featured here on Styleboost. While Ryan Sims has been in charge of the previous two, it's now time for Tyson Rosage to step up to the challenge. He does it with style. While this is no huge leap away from previous installments, it now feels more lightweight, a bit tighter and completely delicious. Once again, purevolume becomes an even better site.
