Sam Brown is a Web Designer and Developer from Edinburgh, Scotland who specialises in usability and web standards. Going through my favorite bookmarks for Styleboost from 2008, this one showed up. It's quite unique, and changes regularly, if I'm not mistaken.

"Time tracking rethought." With a tagline like that, I expect a lot from a service like this. After trying it out for a little while (not nearly enough), my impression is that this is a solid service both functionality-wise and design-wise. I'm an avid user of Tick, but the delicious design of Freckle makes me wish that the Tick team gives the site a similar realignment in the future. Freckle has an exquisite color scheme, elegant interface interactivity details (js) and oozes of love. What a refreshing site. Even if you're not interested in a Time tracking app, you should sign up for a free account just to play with the interface.

Campaign Monitor is a "100% Rebrandable email marketing software just for designers". The man himself, Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain, has designed the new site, which I must admit is an instant favorite. All the graphics are great, the layout is very clean, and it is superbly easy to navigate. Jesse is not reinventing the wheel, but instead going for perfection. And he succeeds with style.

Tim Van Damme’s brand new online presence is dead simple. So simple, in fact, that I dare call it genious. Its design is razor sharp. This is exactly what I need for myself. Via Twitter.

The portfolio site of Mike Precious' one man design studio has recently launched and looks sizzling. It's all very professional while still showing off a strong personality. My favorite thing about this portfolio? Easily available large screenshots of his work. I'm pretty sure that's the number one thing potential clients are interested in. This is a really good portfolio featuring strong work samples.

This webapp has a really, really nice interface. It works great and looks frickin' sweet. All the graphics and the colors are so delicious that I can barely resist eating them. Now I just need to read more books.

If you're wondering what this service does, Syncplicity makes sure you always have the files you need at your fingertips, anytime, anywhere. I'm a devoted SugarSync user myself, but I like this site design. It's pretty straightforward, but the colors work wonders and I like the way they've implemented the individual page headers/navigation "ribbons" (not sure what to call it). The "Tour" is also a good example to follow.

MTV finally truly understands the web. This is how to do it. This is how to become the main source of music videos online. They've created a snappy, to-the-point and easy-to-use database of a whole lot of music videos. The colors are great, too. The only thing I see missing, is adding every music video in the known universe to the database.

Veerle Pieters proudly presents the redesigned blog/portfolio Duoh! she's created together with Geert Leyseele. It's looking awesomerer (that's a word, right?) than before with great details, fresh colors, wonderful illustrations, and so on and so forth. Truly a beauty to be inspired by.
