We Are Fixel is a small web agency you should keep an eye on. I don't care if they do great work and have a sweet portfolio. What really impresses me is the mind-bogglingly awesome "about" page. Make sure to take a look.

Illustrator, designer and writer Frank Chimero has made quite a name for himself. And deservedly so, if you ask me. He's given insightful lectures, written inspirational blog posts, not to mention having a portfolio to die for. He recently launched this elegant single page personal profile page.

Close to all of Nike's numerous websites have looked cutting edge and stupendously slick when they were launched. Nike Better World is no exception. The scrolling effect is a delightful touch. It's also interesting to see how the full page screen shot turned out. Too bad the links are external sites without the same look and feel.

Designer/illustrator celebrity Jon Hicks has designed a beautiful theme for WordPress and Tumblr. The fact that he went for a horizontally scrolling interface surprised me, but it works surprisingly well. It's great to see that it's possible to do something like that without making it too intricate and/or frustrating.

Christopher Meeks' portfolio site makes use of a huge background image with a minimalistic and very focused interface. I'm in love with the way he's concentrated all the information into a small area in the middle of the screen. It has forced him to strip away everything that is unnecessary. A great, little site.

I have seen countless services and custom made sites aiming to play the role of simple online business cards for its users. Very rarely do these stand out. I have also seen way too many creative sites that make use of splash screens, animations or other creative ways of annoying site visitors. Benjamin De Cock's site is both an online business card and makes use of a splash animation. Still, I find it so elegantly done that it actually works. Congrats to Benjamin for pulling this off without pissing me off.

This here is not my all time favorite website. Still, I think this site does one quite amazing thing that deserves your attention. The main navigation on the home page is made up of a a live webcam. What a great touch. This is art. Via @romaincolin.

Ben the Bodyguard is basically a teaser website for getting people to sign up to be notified when a new iPhone app is launched. But it's such wonderfully executed. In fact, I've never seen anything quite like this. A big win for HTML5 storytelling. Via Robbin Ingvarsson.
