Beautifully designed printed inspirational reading material for digital designers seems to be all the rage these days. Offscreen is no exception. Needless to say, the accompanying site is brilliantly designed.

It has taken a few years, but the world class Swedish digital agency Doberman has finally come around to creating a proper website for themselves. Even though I think they should have dropped the "Tweets and blog feeds" from the home page, as this basically only serves to clutter their message, this is only nitpicking from my side. The project presentations and the other various sections of the site combine function and form with great success.

Delightful interactions and lovely illustrations combined with clear explanations make for a very intriguing teaser site for Carbonmade's upcoming job board of sorts. My two favorite parts of the site are #1 how the carousel is rotating in a circular motion and #2 how the same carousel showcases the various professions. Bonus points for the cuteness!

This one here is a great example of clear and uncluttered communication. They've stripped away the bullshit lingo and manage to exaplin what they do in plain English. Accentuating this with elegantly simple illustrations and delicate photos make them even more trustworthy in my opinion. To sum up: Slick and simple.

I have yet to stay at a Four Seasons hotel. Still, in my mind they have an impeccable reputation for great service design. With their recent complete revamp of their online offering, Four Seasons takes a great leap forward. I know the competition isn't too tough, but I have yet to see a better hotel website than this. Finally someone raised the bar.

I love the combination of a boxy grid-based design and great product photos in use at the Unit Portables site. You immediately get the feeling that their products are genuinely unique. However, my favorite part of the design is the way they have pulled the color of the main products displayed on the homepage onto the box below. It works especially well with the strong red and blue bags. Nice touch! Via @tomcavill.

Historically I've found it difficult to find truly spectacular portfolio sites online. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. This week, for some reason, I've discovered two such sites. Put simply, the Kyan portfolio site is close to perfection in my book. They've gone for an ambitious, quite content heavy approach, and they've succeeded with flying colors. The combination of canvas animations, subtle details, beautiful typography, great content strategy work and incredible illustrations make for one of the boldest and most memorable portfolios in a long time. The homepage slider is just plain fantastic.

Goodie! One of my favorite Norwegian design studios finally moved away from their old portfolio built with Flash. This new site clearly shows how well these designers understand the web, not only technology-wise but also the UX. This is probably one of my favorite site designs in a while. Just check out the beautiful typography and grid. The slide-in search box is also an exquisite touch.

The Clubhouse is a beautifully quirky little blog containing interviews, art, news and doodles by selected artists. It's also a way for Carbonmade to show off the range and quality of their users. Truly inspiring and very well designed blog. There's nothing quite like it.

Slick and to-the-point portfolio site for Swedish interface designer Farzad Ban. I love how he basically displays 2 sentences, 8 projects and 3 basic calls to action. Nothing overly fancy but it's very easy to digest and looks great.
