With a brand new Digg and a hot new Think Vitamin, it's obvious that I should also post my favorite site redesign ever which is #newtwitter. I absolutely love what Vitor Lourenço, Doug Bowman and Zhanna Shamis have done with the site. So many people much smarter than me have weighed in on the new design already, and almost everybody seems to love it. Especially the fact that it feels so much like a desktop app. Read more about the Twitter redesign over at Quora.

The recent Digg reboot has gotten quite a bit of bad press recently, and I don't disagree with most of criticism. Judging by the user uproar and the bad numbers, it's easy to see that this complete rethinking of the service and user interface isn't a huge win for Digg. Still, I find the new site has a quite beautiful user interface. They've also managed to shave off many of the different elements, which is a good thing. It's also much more responsive now, and they've also done cool stuff like this.

The new Think Vitamin has given the site a great boost to the user experience side of things. The use of white space is hot. The same goes for the typography and the color scheme. I'm also very impressed by how beautiful they have made the Disqus comments look. If you like the site, you should read about the new site on Think Vitamin.

WebExpo Prague is a Central European gathering of web enthusiasts taking place in Prague (obviously) in a couple of weeks. My favorite parts about this site: The big, bold navigation, the various overlays on the homepage photos and the clear focus on the contents. A job well done by Lukas Plihal, Jakub Bartásek and Vojtěch Bulant.

Here's a goodie from Yaron Schoen and Trent Walton. Not only is this a beautiful site and a great concept. The really wonderful thing about Design Swap is the fact that it is likely to inspire a lot of great designs in the near future.

Grain & Gram, or The New Gentleman's Journal, as they like to call themselves, is a wonderful new source of inspiration. A droolworthy and surprisingly fresh breath of air in this way too crowded area of the Internet. I'll keep this one bookmarked in case there's a chance that they can keep this level of quality in future updates.

With a redesigned website and an identity refresh, The Mid-Century Modernist is intent on showcasing the most beautiful retro objects of desire in the world. I really, really like the way it feels out of this world when it comes to layout, colors and navigation. Close to perfection and one of a kind. Make sure to check out the gallery. Via ISO50.

Jon Hicks just redesigned his journal/blog as a fluid site. Motivated by Ethan Marcotte’s excellent article for A List Apart Responsive Web Design, Jon has definitely done an impressive job. Make sure to resize your browser to see how it folds, bends and adapts.
