Rome: "3 Dreams of Black" is an ambitious interactive film made by Chris Milk with help from Google. The project was made as a Chrome experiment to show off the power of WebGL, basically enabling hardware-accelerated 3D graphics in the web browser without a plug-in. It's very impressive technologically and a mesmerizing beauty to behold. And they have done a good job of sharing the code and explaining the basics behind the development.

Secret Location is an Interactive Media Production company based in Toronto. They work with television and commercial production companies, as well as advertising agencies. Secret Location also produces original online and mobile shows and animation for all platforms. Their portfolio is cleverly done as an interactive video that's well worth checking out.

The Trondheim based agency Klipp og Lim (cut and paste) works within a field defined by the perimeters design and communication. They just launched their excellent redesigned portfolio site. I love what they've done with it. Elegant with a high level of usability.

Time for another Norwegian studio portfolio. This time it's a digital advertising/production agency located in Oslo. I came across this as Magne Hage, a childhood friend of mine from Skien, sent me a tip about the new site. Magne is their 3D animator, and as far as I can tell, a truly skilled one at that, too. I really like the way The Voyagers are focussing on creating a story and "universe" around their portfolio. It works very well, even though I think they're using a bit too much Flash when they shouldn't.

The FWA Theater is powered by the FiV Platform from Fantasy Interactive. Even though being an all-encompassing Flash site, this site feel truly light-weight and snappy. The drag-and-drop interface adds to this great user experience. What's more, it looks amazing, too. Clean, simple and still enough details to inspire. A very nice portal for high quality videos.

Here is a pure flashfolio gem. I truly love this one. The big bold type for navigation, the tasty colors, the work in the portfolio, the player interface. It all comes together and makes for a unique and blissful experience. It's simply stunning.

A very impressive all-encompassing flashfolio from Barcelona's Dvein. I'm sure some will find this one a bit too impressive, making it a little too cpu/bandwidth hungry. I'm finding it to be a very successful use of Flash as far as experimental navigation goes. It really mesmerizes and works quite well. Via Reform & Revolution.

I love the way Ricardo lays out his portfolio in one long page in a greyscale wrapping. The works stand out as the works of art they truly are. Too bad the site makes extensive use of popups instead of slick Lightbox overlays, and tables instead of more correct semantic markup. Still a very good example of a well laid out portfolio with a tasteful design.

The pre-production/post-production synchronized view is not only an impressive feature, but a really fascinating effect. It left me viewing a lot more of the video than I would otherwise. It shows how important the implementation is for keeping the user interested.

Humanot is the portfolio of freelance designer John Slabyk. He's got some slick work to show off, which he does in style. There is a clear identity to his portfolio, as well.
