Medium is the hot new venture from The Obvious Corporation. In fact, they are attempting to redefine online publishing as a system optimized for quality, rather than popularity. This, of course, is music to my ears. Make sure to read Ev Williams' post about the reasoning behind Medium.

The recent acquisition of ReadWriteWeb by Say Media has resulted in a wonderful redesign and rebranding into what is now known as ReadWrite. I must admit that I love the design. Rarely has a news site felt this fresh and modern. Three thumbs up for the parallax-ish scrolling technique. For more info, Fake Steve Jobs aka Dan Lyons, the new editor-in-chief of ReadWrite, has a good writeup about the new site and concept. Via Martin Berglund.

“Boy genius” Nick D’Aloisio recently launched his mobile news app that has a long list of high profile investors like Stephen Fry, Matt Mullenweg, Ashton Kutcher, Betaworks and many more. The app is interesting enough, and looks beautiful. However, that shouldn't be enough to be posted here on Styleboost. The site is posted because it is accompanied by a very smooth and elegant landing page. I'm pretty sure that it works wonders to show off the power of Summly.

The recent redesign of Fast Company's design related news site Co.Design was a truly impressive feat. I'm absolutely loving the way they've built a visually unparalleled beauty that is also a pleasure to read. Add to that the fact that their editorial profile is very inspiring, and the incredibly well done responsive aspect of the design makes this one of the best editorial designs of all time in my book. Read more about the redesign on Co.Design.

Joshua Topolsky & friends' just launched a very promising new tech news site. It's worth noting that they are creating a true next gen editorial news site. I love the way they've laid out the homepage plus the way they've colored some of the photos. Learn more about this new venture.

The best designed online newspaper in the world right now. Plain and simple. Filament Group teamed up with Ethan Marcotte and Upstatement to build an accessible, progressive enhancement and responsive-design based subscription news site that kicks everyone else's ass. Not everything is perfect on this site, but almost everything that really matters is. If you're in the business of designing news sites, like me, this one should be the bar you're aiming for.

The recent Digg reboot has gotten quite a bit of bad press recently, and I don't disagree with most of criticism. Judging by the user uproar and the bad numbers, it's easy to see that this complete rethinking of the service and user interface isn't a huge win for Digg. Still, I find the new site has a quite beautiful user interface. They've also managed to shave off many of the different elements, which is a good thing. It's also much more responsive now, and they've also done cool stuff like this.

CreativeDepart is "supporting creative journeys" by spreading the good word and inspiration. What strikes me most about this site, however, is the grid in the presentation. Wonderful stuff that I hope inspires other blog-like sites.

A little more than a week ago, one of my favorite tech sites got a major overhaul. In fact, it got a complete overhaul. They changed it all, and they did it with style. This is something disciples of Jakob Nielsen, as well as followers of the Web 2.0 movement will love. It is very well laid out.
