The latest iteration of Virb's visual design is downright fantastic. And I'm actually surprised, because this is — as far as I know – the first design process at Virb that hasn't been led by Ryan Sims. The Virb team has once again done an amazing job that positions Virb as the most droolworthy CMS in this crowded field.

Apple has tweaked their website in a way that deserves some attention. Basically, the main change is the excellent new black(-ish) navigation bar, but there are also some other very nice changes.

Watch the latest Music Video from your favorite artists. Get up to date Celebrity and Music News. See episodes of your favorite MTV Reality Show. The redesigned MTV.com is now a completely different and much better user experience. Bringing in consultants like Dan Cederholm to make sure they're on the right track tells me that the team behind the new site knows what they're doing. Their theming system named MTV HATS makes sure that hot designers give the site a fresh and varied look and feel. This is a great online makeover of one of the biggest media institutions in the world. Refreshing stuff. Via SimpleBits.

Canadian developer/designer Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain recently explained in great detail how he redesigned the ExpressionEngine site. I think the job he has done with the site is highly inspirational and one to follow. The final product is an usability-wonder and a looker. My conclusion: Publish your universe with ExpressionEngine. A little more than a week ago, one of my favorite tech sites got a major overhaul. In fact, it got a complete overhaul. They changed it all, and they did it with style. This is something disciples of Jakob Nielsen, as well as followers of the Web 2.0 movement will love. It is very well laid out.
