The use of whitespace and colors on Five Simple Steps' website is drop dead gorgeous. The grid in the design is wonderfully implemented and it's really impossible to resist the sudden urge to buy a book or two.

With a redesigned website and an identity refresh, The Mid-Century Modernist is intent on showcasing the most beautiful retro objects of desire in the world. I really, really like the way it feels out of this world when it comes to layout, colors and navigation. Close to perfection and one of a kind. Make sure to check out the gallery. Via ISO50.

All the graphic details of the AppZapper site are super yummy. The easing motions of the subnav also works wonders to create an experience almost as smooth as a snow leopard.

Inkd claims to be "The world’s first market for original print design". Whatever it is, it sure looks delicious. As far as I could tell, every single subpage on Inkd looks incredible. A truly great source of inspiration.

Checkout is the powerful, easy to use point of sale system for the Mac. Use Checkout to take orders, make sales, print invoices and accept payments. Not only does the product look interesting, but the site sure makes the product stand out as both easy to use and look very professional. This is how it should be done.

Despite being an extremely heavy load for a site of its kind, and being a webshop made in Flash, I'm loving certain aspects of this site. First of all, it's unusual navigation just works. I immediately understood how to find a garment and take a closer look at it. The close-ups work great, with the alpha transparency and all. Too bad it's such a heavy load and that it isn't done with jQuery. Flash feels much slower and less responsive. Despite my Flash-bashing, however, this is a great and outstanding webshop. Emptees is supposedly a place for the world's best t-shirt designers to showcase, browse, and talk about tee shirt designs. This site may be too simple for some of you graphics-hungry Photoshop lovers, but I'm personally in love with the use of photography, whitespace, the logo design, and of course the shirts. Image editing for the rest of us. Well not for me, as I'm not a Mac-user. This site is close to perfection on a couple of levels. First of all, it shows us the right way to sell a product; in a clean and delicate wrapping (i.e. site). Beautiful icons and subtle, dark colors combined with striking imagery and a few strong colors. It also takes the style of Mac-related sites (I think you know what I mean by this) to their own place with delicious darkness. The way they present this software makes me really want to try it out, and I think it has a lot to do with the graphics, not the features of the program.

While Apple's hardware has been looking sweeter and sweeter with each year passing, the company's online presence has become more and more stale over the past few years. This week they finally decided to give the site a major overhaul. And what a redesign it is. Making use of slick javascript effects all over, including on a site search that surpasses anything I've ever seen anywhere, period, this site is a marvel of web design/development.

Cicatriz Clothing comes as a breath of Flash air (I crack myself up) from Berlin. At this webshop you can buy t-shirts and more, all carefully and tastefully designed. The interface of this all Flash website is what makes it stand out, however. Video is used to show off the products, and the shop is a complete, integrated Flash solution with no pop-ups or other annoying stuff that most other Flash shops are infested with. A fun and outstanding site.
